With more than 20 years in the field, Howard D. Simmons is highly experienced in criminal defense, civil litigation and business law. Howard is admitted in both New York and New Jersey. He represents a diverse clientele and approaches complex legal problems with focus, discipline and practical judgment.
Former Assistant District Attorney
Howard began his legal career in the Queens County District Attorney’s Office. He spent two years investigating and preparing criminal cases for trial and two years as a trial lawyer in the Supreme Court Trial Bureau, where he tried dozens of felony cases. That experience gives him valuable insight into how prosecutors evaluate evidence, build cases and move criminal matters through the court system.
Education and professional memberships
Howard D. Simmons is a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1989. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, New Jersey Bar Association, New York County Lawyers’ Association and the New York State Bar Association.
